We are Luke and Patricia Vavra who have been selling antique maps for thirty years. We are members of the Washington Map Society, the Phillip Lee Phillips Society (Library of Congress), the Mercator Society (New York Public Library), the International Antiquarian Mapsellers Association (IAMA), the International Map Collectors' Society (IMCOS), the Fry-Jefferson Map Society (Library of Virginia), and the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA).

Cartographic Arts is located west of Richmond, Virginia near Patterson Avenue (Route 6) and a few miles west of the village of Manakin. In addition to the internet, we offer our maps at a few fairs each year and hope to see you at one. Our stock is strongest in maps of America made prior to the American Civil War. However, we have maps covering most parts of the world and most time periods.
